Grandma and grandpa arrived in NYC on Wednesday. Aldo was happy to see them and give them lots of love! While they were here we found a new pediatrician, had birth announcement pictures taken, and did lots of walking and some relaxing.
Our first trip was to the new pediatrician. Among many things we learned that day the one that stood out was that Aldo has already gained plenty of weight. Typically babies are suppose to be at their birth weight after 14 days, however, Aldo exceeded his birth weight of 8 lbs. 2 ounces and is now tipping the scale at 9 lb. 8 ounces! Breastfeeding seems to be working even though I am still having a hard time with it.
Another exciting weekend trip was our walk to Babies R Us for pictures! After having a tough time capturing Aldo's greatness we finally got the "money shot." After cabbing it home, we went to the local bar for my first beer in over ten months! Aldo bellied up to the bar in his stroller and slept through the whole experience (see pictures).
We enjoyed the grandparents and look forward to their next visit!!!

It took me weeks (if not months) to get comfortable breastfeeding. By the 2nd week, I thought it was the hardest most pain in the butt thing ever. Hang in there...it'll bet better and become so easy. And don't be afraid to call your hospital's lactation consultant line -- their advice really helped me a lot.
And if you still have trouble, I know an Egyptian lady who has plenty to share :-)
