This Week

My mom, brother and sister-in-law came into town late Monday evening. Gibb and Marina flew in for the week from Germany to be in a wedding on Long Island. Mom flew in to see them and of course to get some more time with baby Aldo. On Tuesday we went to the park to watch Aldo and Wryder swing! We also got to have a nice Sushi dinner at Haru while my friend, Shelly, babysat Aldo. Then on Wednesday Marina had to leave to start the wedding festivities in Queens so mom, Gibb, Aldo and I hit Rockefeller! We went to the Top of the Rock! It was awesome! I have been in New York now 4 years and never have done that- it was well worth the $20. We then had lunch in the plaza- the gold fountatin, view and the experience was worth every penny. That evening my friend, Erin, watched Aldo so we could enjoy another fabulous Upper East Side establishment Barawanda. Mom and Gibb left today and Aldo and I have been drying our tears since they left! Thank you momma for everything. Thank you Gibb and Marina for coming early to visit us- we miss you and wish you lived closer! xoxo
We also went to the doctor earlier in the week and Aldo is in good health. He weighs a healthy 19 lbs and is 27 inches long!! We started feeding him one formula bottle before bedtime to start the weaning process. You should have seen his face the first few nights that he was given formula- just like he had tasted something sour! So funny! Now he is starting to understand that at night he gets the 'other" milk. We finally got him on a schedule. He goes to bed at 7:30 and wakes up once throughout the night. At about 5:30am I hear him "talking" to his animals and at about 6am I finally go in to get him up. Every morning he looks at me with his big blue eyes and smiles this huge grin- he is thinking "thank you mommy for saving me from this crib." It is the cutiest thing ever!! Then he is a little chatter box until Tony goes to work! The mornings are the best!
