Major Little

I am so proud of my 'little' brother Gibb. He has just received news of making Major in the US Air Force. He is a strong, intelligent, kind, loving man that I am so proud of. He has an amazing job, an amazing and loving wife, and a new baby on the way in August! I am so happy for him and wish him all the best with his new job (and bundle of joy)!! I love you Gibb!

Quitting

That's right I am officially going to be on an extended leave with the NY Dept. of Education starting tomorrow- extended meaning probably won't teach again in NY, but I am keeping my options open! I think Tony is more excited than me! He is excited for the following reasons:

1. He does not have to take Aldo to day care- which he loves and hates- getting him ready in the morning, putting on shoes, jacket, pants, socks, hat- putting Aldo in stroller most liking Aldo is crying at this point- probably because he is so hot--then Aldo probably taking a poo--Tony having to change him--getting drool on his work clothes---ok finally out the door and walking to the subway--carrying him down the stairs and back up and down to the next train and back up---then outside they come into the cold winter air--walking to day care--- finally arriving at the best day care in Manhattan!!

Aldo actually smiling and SO excited to see his teacher Ms. Onika! Priceless!

2. The house will be clean and dinner will be made (hopefully)

3. Did I mention he is excited to not take Aldo in the morning, not be late to work, not have to wear clothes that can hide droll, sleeping in a little longer, and NOT having to take Aldo to day care!

All in all we are so excited and forunate that I am going to be able to stay home and raise our boys...I am scared and nervous that I can give Aldo and baby 2 the stimulation and creative energy that day care provides! I know it will be challenging but I look forward to conquoring those challenges!!!

Here is Ethan and Aldo at Gymboree two weeks ago. They are the best of buds and even share the same birthday! We can't wait to be able to spend more time with all of our friends after next Friday! (my offical last day of work!)

Aldo's 1st Haircut!!!

Yep- it was that time. Aldo's long locks have been cut by Tony's Russian barber. Aldo was a good patron, only crying once. His haircut makes him look about 3 years older- haa. He is excited to go to school on Tuesday to impress all the ladies with his new do!
